Summary: Your photos are sent securely to an AI service only to create your art, and are not stored on our servers. Your dog's profile and finished cards stay on your device. We don't sell your data.
1. Introduction
Welcome to Dog Cards AI ("we," "our," or "us"), an app by do while true. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App").
By using our App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Photos You Provide
When you create a card, you provide a photo of your dog. These photos are:
- Sent securely (over HTTPS) to Google's Gemini AI service to generate your artwork
- Used solely to create the card you requested
- Not stored on our own servers
- Not used to train our own models
The finished cards you generate are saved locally on your device only.
2.2 Your Dog's Profile
If you choose to add your dog's name, birthday, or "gotcha day," this information is stored only on your device (to personalize the app and schedule optional reminders). It is not uploaded to us.
2.3 Purchase Information
Payments are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never see or store your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage purchases and subscriptions, which assigns an anonymous identifier and processes purchase receipts to unlock your content.
2.4 Analytics & Diagnostics
- Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage analytics to understand how the App is used
- Firebase Crashlytics: crash and performance diagnostics to fix issues
2.5 Advertising & Attribution
To measure the effectiveness of our marketing, the App uses Apple's SKAdNetwork (privacy-preserving install attribution). On first launch we may ask, via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, for permission to access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA). If you decline, the App still works fully β we simply don't access the IDFA.
2.6 Notifications
With your permission, we send reminders (such as your dog's birthday) and occasional updates via push notifications through Firebase Cloud Messaging. You can turn these off any time in your device settings.
2.7 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Your name or contact information
- Your precise location
- Your device contacts
- Any photos beyond the ones you submit to create a card
3. How We Use Your Information
- Generate AI art and cards from the photos you submit
